Enabling survivors and those affected by cancer to become advocates and educate others by using their stories to help others . We achieve this through the creation of collaborative platforms which are aimed at empowering all South Africans to add their voices to , lobbying for cancer access and discussing the social barriers that impede the cancer patient’s journey with in their community, such as the myths and stigmas associated with the disease.

Ring the bell campaign is a project that celebrates survivorship and those in the fight of cancer.
Across the world ringing a bell on a patient’s last day of treatment to mark their victory has become common practice in treatment facilities. Patients describe this moment as restoration of hope, the sound of victory
A journey through cancer treatment is not a walk in the park. It can consist of many rounds of chemotherapy, which means hours in a chair hooked up to an IV drip or having to report for radiation every day for up to six weeks. During this, many patients form a close bond with the staff at their treating facilities and the other patients who have sat with them in the treatment facilities.After this harrowing journey of completing cancer treatment, most patients want to mark the moment. Getting through it is a big deal! ,
Ringing the bell does not only mean something to the patient who is receiving their last treatment but gives patients who are still yet to complete their treatment something to look forward too, when a patient rings the bell it’s not only their celebration but the celebration for the whole treatment facility.
#Ring4Cancer campaign is one of the mechanism to ensure this. Campaigning for Cancer in partnership with Roche ensure private oncology practices and state oncology facilities are equipped with a bell for patient’s, When patients finish their last round of treatment, they ring a bell that’s affixed to the wall in the treatment suite.
The bell is rung four times to celebrate hope, strength, recovery, and victory with fellow patient’s, their healthcare team, friends, and family. Once a patient has rung the bell 4 times they can upload a photo/video to their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, using the hashtag #ring4cancer and tagging @campaign4cancer.
Important: All materials including the bell are free of charge. Being part of the campaign does not create you any costs for your practice.
