Vision and Mission

Vision

Campaigning for Cancer was established in 2008 with a vision of being a strong, sympathetic and responsible voice for people affected by cancer.

Over the last decade we have tirelessly worked to achieve this. In the organisation’s 10th anniversary strategic planning it was agreed that we had indeed made this happen, and while our fundamental foundation would always be to be a voice for those affected by cancer, the Board elected to adopt a more long-term vision of:

A South Africa where people affected by cancer receive fair, appropriate, timeous and respectful treatment and care.

Mission

We will achieve this vision by working to:

Ensure that the patients’ rights are protected by…

  • Ensuring dialogues amongst role-players;
  • Facilitating solutions with regard to cancer prevention and treatment;
  • Representing patients with regard to:
  • Legislation
  • Healthcare costs
  • Healthcare delivery
  • Understanding the cancer landscape

in a manner that ensures that all stakeholder positions are considered.
